This provides added flexibility and reduced bandwidth requirements for backup jobs especially for larger backups (for instance file server or Oracle on Linux backups) on those remote Linux servers. Each Remote Media Agent for Linux Servers includes the Agent for Linux so the local Linux server can be protected. All management and configuration of the Remote Media Agent including backup jobs restore jobs and storage is performed through the Administration Console administering the Windows-based Backup Exec Server.
